Word on the street about Sam's is that Sam's was mainly a wallboard business and their claim to fame was that they would undersell anyone else's prices - even Home Depot.
Apparently, not long after Sulja took over Sam's, they stiffed Sam's suppliers so they could no longer buy from them; so they bought their wallboard from Home Depot and then resold it FOR LESS THAN THEY PAID FOR IT!
Now that is a business model!
Bankruptcy soon followed.
