GREAT post SN with MOAA .that article is exactly it. boots on the ground at risk over water & fuel transport/storage and how much does that gal. of h2o or fuel cost? i seem to remember $15-$30 gal. diesel fuel, domestic price X 10. there is h2o everywhere on the planet at a depth of 300ft., sea level +50ft & barring granite rock, but u need power to drill & powered pumps to raise it up that far. why do few experienced personnel 'free' ride on fuel or water tanker trucks : because of the higher risk of them getting zapped. they are priority targets. making a fuel tanker go BOOM! is self affirming to hostiles,u know u can see the smoke for miles & miles , it may be the biggest event of their lives. it's the sort of thing they make wagers on, 'Is it a real water tanker or a 'Sneaky Pete' fuel tanker. LOGISTICS says it all: they need csli MOJOs & TITANs. never seen a product yet that wasn't improved by letting our warriors use it in real conditions and working out any unseen glitch or even improving its performance & unthought of applications. hope u went to 'inside moaa head quarters' and clicked USA&USMC or Congress, nice to get the poop minus some major media puke's interpretation. it's all a good read. well, back to figure'n my tax hit!! for this april 15.
