One BIG problem, as I see it, with the healthcare bill is that it does zip to actually improve our health. It's a health insurance bill that mandates a very flawed system. Our medical system treats symptoms and disease but rarely questions WHY we have those symptoms and diseases.

The healthcare bill will further reinforce the conventional wisdoms of western medicine and the stranglehold of pharmaceuticals we rely on. It has little to do with health.

I suppose it's great for those uninsured with undiagnosed diabetes (for example) who will now be given plenty of Metformin to control their blood sugar. The bill will be a boon to the drug manufacturers as they'll now have millions more customers to sell to.

All those folks with diabetes can continue eating the same crap that caused the disease until they finally drop dead from lactic acidosis or some other side effect of the drug, and many will do just that.

Industry, both pharma and insurance, are still very much in charge of our health...Or lack of it! The costs will continue to rise and our health will continue to suffer.

I believe healthcare should be a right, not a privilege for the moneyed class. I believe the cost of healthcare should be shared equitably by all of us but most importantly, I believe the primary goal of our healthcare system should be good health.
