Lon averaging down is what one does when they were unable to accurately predict the movement of the stock in the first place. And to think that one was mistaken at nearly every level here would eventually sink in that they are just mistaken about the stock entirely.

Maybe not I guess.

Averaging down is a horrible strategy as it ties up more money in a bad investment decision.
