In reading the pdf of the fine, it states that MD had been notified 3 different times in writing in NOV 08, DEC 08, and SEPT 09 that he needed to include all the areas of disturbance in the permit and update the plan and reclamation surety. IMO there is no excuse for not filing the proper information and abiding by the law. Sloppy, very sloppy. One of the most important things to take care of in a mining operation (other than safety) is to make sure that you are in 100% compliance with the Govt regulations. They can shut you down in a heartbeat.This time it was just a $3000.00 fine, but you can bet that they will increase the penalties in the future if this crap continues. I am not trying to bash the company, I own a substantial number of shares, but this really ticks me off.
