It's no more ironic than that the President and the Congress are also paid by taxpayer money. By that logic, only the members of the majority party should be paid? Not sure what you really meant. Would you prefer that the lobbyists pay their SALARIES, too? They already fund the re-election campaigns....

Wives of politicians are allowed their personal opinions. Few exercise the right very much... Hillary used to weigh in quite often as First Lady. Do you think that they should be non-political and meekly sit in a shadow? I disagree with Mrs. Thomas' politics bigtime, but not her right to say stupid things.

Just like Sarah, who is becoming nuttier than a squirrel turd... she can say anything she wants, but it doesn't mean that it makes any sense.
