Chevron & Exxon appear to have diverted their focus away from Deep Water NG, and towards Shale Gas Projects. Your post seems that it may also confirm this. If this is why both companies bailed (or are in talks of bailing) OBO-1, then I would guess they feel they can produce Shale Gas in greater quantities...and at lower costs. This is just a guess, but why else would they redirect thier focus.
