The board is here for discussion to improve the collective intelligence by answering questions and reporting new research. If you've been here for a long time and you don't think it's a problem, fine. If you haven't been here a long time, then this may be the first time you've heard of it.
For the life of me, I have never seen a board become so defensive when someone starts asking probing questions. If there is a glaring issue that ends up becoming a major setback, wouldn't you want to know about it? If there is an unknown that some simple discussion can clarify, won't that boost your confidence? When you are investing considerable amounts of money into a company, why wouldn't you want to know every single thing about it?
