Big brokers require MM's to fill orders even if shares are not available or else they don't use them. MM's waited pretty much to the final few minutes than kinda had to fill bids on the 5's. Sometimes it works out for bidsitters especially when news here has been quiet and an exact earnings date has been hard to nail down. Last year they filed in April but this year they have a better team working(CPA, lawyer) on it even with the acquisition items that caused some consolidation delays.
