Ice sheets are formed by the accumulation of snow and ice over time and eventually break off of their own sheer weight. As the meeting of tectonic plates that build up massive energy through friction over time, which is eventually released as earthquakes. Been happening for millennia. Certainly not a result of man's behavior.
