"We are very proud to be working with Cooper Lighting, a subsidiary of Cooper Industries, on this program. The parts we supply are highly cosmetic, and function as a heat sink due to our advanced materials and high pressure casting process," said Tom Flessner, President / CEO of Thresher Industries. S&P REITERATES HOLD OPINION ON SHARES OF COOPER INDUSTRIES
(Standard & Poor's)
We are keeping our Q1 EPS estimate of $0.69, despite some negative impact from foreign exchange swings, and our full year '10 forecast of $2.83. These are in line with today's reiterated CBE guidance. Over the next several years, performance in the U.S. should lag relatively, as we see emerging markets becoming more important to the company, as those markets expand more rapidly. We see cash flow and balance sheet strength supportive of acquisitions and other potentially value-adding actions. On a blend of DCF and P/E analyses, we keep our $48 target price.

Cooper Lighting Luminaires Adorn the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games
11:06a ET February 24, 2010 (Business Wire)
Cooper Lighting, a division of Cooper Industries plc (NYSE: CBE), has announced that the company's lighting fixtures are illuminating key structures at the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games that officially started on February 12, 2010 in Canada. Thousands of indoor and outdoor lighting products from eight of the company's brands are illuminating the speed skating Richmond Olympic Oval venue, the Olympic Village Vancouver and the Whistler Olympic Athletes' High Performance Centre. In addition, Cooper Lighting luminaires adorn the area's Golden Ears bridge and the public transit Canada Line's Fraser River crossing bridge, and showcases the symbolic Olympic flag located at the Vancouver City Hall. Luminaires are also located in retail outlets and other Vancouver Olympic Committee (VANOC) buildings.

"Cooper Lighting is proud to once again be a part of such a grand event," says Neil Schrimsher, President, Cooper Lighting. "As with the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, these unique projects demonstrate the breadth of Cooper Lighting's vast product portfolios and the company's ability to address a wide variety of application needs for projects of any size and scope."

Staged in Vancouver and Whistler (and neighboring areas including Richmond), British Columbia, the Cooper Lighting luminaire package includes Invue Slide and Icon decorative site/area exterior fixtures that line the streets of the Olympic Village Vancouver, the "home away from home" for the athletes. Additional exterior products include McGraw-Edison Talon outdoor site lighting fixtures illuminating the Golden Ears bridge, and the Fraiser River bridge features Fail-Safe linear fluorescent vandal resistant products providing safety for the elevated walkway.

Metalux fluorescent commercial fixtures are located in numerous buildings including the sustainable and symbolic speed skating Richmond Olympic Oval. The 355,000 sq. ft. signature facility--a literal and symbolic reflection of local culture--includes Portfolio and PDS recessed downlights throughout and unique RSA custom chandeliers located in the front entrance lobby, as well as the Metalux fixtures. Lumiere architectural outdoor accent and uplighting in-ground luminaires and Invue Vision floodlights illuminate the exterior of the beautiful building, making this venue a memorable staple in the community.
