From a leadership aspect it has greater impact to admit your wrong in person to the group you failed to meet expectations of than to be weak and wait a few weeks later to issue a PR from behind the comfort of your desk. It has nothing to do with suspense, but rather assurance there will be no gap in leading the company, that is far too uncomfortable to think there is no forethought to the decision process. He came face to face with shareholders admitted to aproblem and then told them the solution is in place. Just because he cannot give us the details right now does not change a thing, the day will come and the change will occur. Knowing now or knowing then changes absolutely nothing in the big picture.
