ByMor - to properly emphasize one of your more subtle comments, when the company buys stock, 100% of those shares bought come from the float. Some of those shares might be retired and reduce the O/S and some of those shares might be placed in the treasury for issuing as incentives down stream, but again 100% come out of the float which reduces it and tightens it all that much more.
