Hi all.. up to no good as usual this weekend.. my son had his 6th birthday party at the Silvershitty - watched Incredibles. Good time overall (the party room - closed with 8 screaming kids.. brutal!)

Was playing with EMAs and comparing my results to Stockcharts. Conclusion - the Stockcharts graphs fail to provide the proper EMAs with any stock that is less than (approximately) 2 months old. Proved that using their formula against GOOGle (*read below). Found with any stock - after about 2 months the calculated EMA I had matched to what they had. FWIW: just something to know if you are tracking a new issue.. and think you are getting valid results.

Oh and last night, half asleep at 2AM, I managed to accidently wipe out an 85GB partition from my 120GB harddrive. A system to some.. around a mere 10% of mine.. and OUCH that's gotta hurt! Nothing absolutely critical. Smile smile smile.

* Stockcharts provides the formula they use; they also provide an XLS spreadsheet of which they base the calculations on. GOOG was a great example since the company just started up. Just adjust the days (to what I use on the chart) plus key in the known closing prices they use - and boom - it falls flat. Same formula with GE over years and months - bang on what they show on the chart. (Thanks Louis for the info.. I was in mid-type when my system crashed....)
