I agree with Spp, I think the smaller players got in due to political reasons, during initial licensing STP was very upset and vocal about all these small Nigerian oil companies getting percentages that had no oil experience, no financial backing, but got percentages because of Nigerian politics. I've been told its normal operations in this part of the world, a small Nigerian company gets a few percentages, then sells those percentages to the majors for millions of dollars after oil, gas, condensate is found and everyone is happy. I think that is what is happening here.
