hVIVO CEO on record FY24 revenue & EBITDA as expansion strategy pays off

hVIVO PLC chief executive Yamin ‘Mo’ Khan takes Proactive's Stephen Gunnion through the company’s record-breaking financial performance in 2024, operational milestones and strategic outlook. hVIVO reported a 12% rise in revenue to just under £63 million, with an EBITDA margin of 26%. Khan highlighted this as a record margin for the company. He noted that, even excluding a one-off facility fee, the margin remained strong at 23%. The company also ended the year with £44 million in cash. Khan explained: “This is all been based on a record number of inoculations… we ran nine challenge trials and our largest field study to date.” He emphasised the company’s transformation, with a move to a purpose-built 50-bed human challenge facility in Canary Wharf, improvements in operational efficiency, and a major expansion of lab and outpatient capacity. Arc Minerals expands portfolio with acquisition of Chingola Copper Project in Zambia

Arc Minerals Limited (AIM:ARCM) executive chairman Nick von Schirnding and chief operating officer Vassilios Carellas joined Stephen Gunnion in the Proactive studio with details of the company’s latest acquisition—the Chingola Copper Project in Zambia. Von Schirnding highlighted that the project is located in the northeast of the Zambian Copper Belt, an area known for high-grade copper deposits. The site is less than 30km from major existing operations, including Vedanta’s Nchanga Mine and Moxico Resources’ Mimbula Mine. He described the acquisition as strategic, adding that Arc Minerals has been pursuing it for 18 months due to its high prospectivity. Carellas detailed the financial terms of the deal, explaining that Arc Minerals has committed an initial $75,000, with milestone-based payments tied to drilling and resource confirmation. He emphasised that the transaction is structured to limit financial risk, allowing the company to exit if exploration does not yield the expected results. Von Schirnding also reassured investors that the company’s upcoming exploration work at Chingola is fully funded, with soil sampling expected to commence soon. The project will add to Arc Minerals’ growing portfolio, which includes its joint venture with Anglo American in Zambia’s northwest and assets in Botswana. Carellas noted that Chingola’s geological potential remains largely untested in the last 20 years, making it a prime target for new exploration techniques. Element 25 delivers positive Tokyo Bay Scoping Study

Element 25 managing director Justin Brown talked with Proactive about the recent completion of the Tokyo Bay HPMSM Facility Scoping Study in partnership with Nissin Chemical Corporation. The company said the results of the scoping study were positive enough to justify advancing the project to the pre-feasibility stage. Brown explained that the Tokyo Bay site offers unique advantages, including a co-located sulfuric acid plant, deepwater port access, and supporting infrastructure critical for high-purity manganese sulfate production. “We took our learnings from the detailed work we’ve done in Louisiana… and converted them to a Japanese setting,” Brown said. He also noted that Japan's regulatory and geopolitical environment makes it an ideal location for refining and supplying the local battery market. Looking ahead, Brown confirmed that Element 25 and Nissin Chemical will conduct deeper engineering and cost analysis under their existing MOU, with a final investment decision targeted for June 2026. The next milestone will be the pre-feasibility study, expected later this year. Brown also discussed how the Tokyo Bay project fits into the company’s broader “design one, build many” strategy, which aims to establish a global network of refineries fed by ethically sourced manganese from Element 25’s Butcherbird mine. In addition to activity in Japan, Brown highlighted ongoing work in Europe and updates on the Butcherbird expansion and Louisiana project, with construction planned to commence later this year.
