Well said Brent, I mean BillyJack....While we can't see the future or often don't understand the events of history (let alone our own lives), we can trust that history's God.

When we go through the figurative "fiery furnace" and "deep waters" we find out How Firm a Foundation we actually have. It is that perspective that enables us to give thanks in all circumstances.
