CORDOBA, ARGENTINA, Feb 04, 2010 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) -- Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas) -- Juiz de Fora, the world's first ethanol-fueled power plant, was opened January 19 by Petrobras (PBR, Trade ) (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil). The 87-megawatt power plant was upgraded to be able to switch between natural gas and sugarcane-based ethanol feedstocks instantaneously. The facility is equipped with two General Electric (GE, Trade ) combustion turbines and Alstom (EPA:ALO) generators.
