I use closing price (only have been studying SPX)as my map, and specific MA's of the derivative to get me in and out for trading. If signals stay on one side of the line, I stay in that trade, if they change to the other I exit. Varying degrees of change dictate if I switch from long to short or short to long as opposed to just exiting the trade.
