sound good to me...i mean, i am not a native english speaking person (i'm from germany), but the word 'announcement' sounds very promising to me....at least better than 'update' or similar. an update could be things like: the merger is not finished yet / the merger is cancelled.....but 'announcement' sounds like: hey guys, the merger is completed.....just my opinion....;@)
