Global Clean Energy, Inc. Has Commenced Development of a 10-15 Ton per Day Gasification System for Municipal Solid Waste

HOUSTON, TX--(Marketwire - January 28, 2010) - Global Clean Energy, Inc. (OTCBB: GCEI) today announced that the Phase II planning has begun to build an integrated waste-to-energy pilot plant for the city of Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, Qc, Canada. The project is estimated to cost $10-15 million dollars.

Based on the recent successful development of GCE's 1-2 tpd Hybrid Steam-Reforming Gasifier, design and drawings for a 10-15 tpd unit has begun, which will be at the core of a state-of-the-art fully integrated waste sorting, reforming and biodiesel production center.

The system is being tested and will, upon successful testing and evaluation, enable the company to begin plans to produce commercially viable systems which will be targeted at the $100 billion dollar waste-to-energy market in North America.

Global Clean Energy, Inc. is currently in talks with suppliers of fully automated waste sorting systems, which will be the front end of the process to separate and recover organic carbonaceous material from municipal solid waste (MSW). For the city of Salaberry-de-Valleyfield and the outlying regions, GCE is estimating a system with the capacity to process 60 tons per hour of MSW.

Global Clean is also initiating an NSERC CRD (Collaborative Research and Development) Grant under the auspices of the Engineering dept. of Concordia University, Montreal Canada to do numerical modeling of the gasifier for performance evaluation and to develop a computer model of the pilot-scale unit.

Phase II is the second phase of a three phase project to reduce Salaberry-de-Valleyfield's landfill waste by 50%. The Phase ll project is a pilot-scale 10-15 tpd project towards scaling upwards to the Phase lll commercial scale project which will have the capacity to process 100-125 tpd of organic waste material.

Global Clean Energy is a renewable energy company that develops and commercializes innovative products and services in the area of energy waste management. The company's mission is to provide commercial solutions for organic waste recovery and reforming into clean usable energy, on the municipal and industrial level. Headquartered in Houston, Texas, GCE has operations in the United States, Canada and Europe.
