Venting a bit, not important. Lost perspective last night which is ironic because one of the posts last night was about keeping perspective.
Actually pretty ticked about it.
The mistake:
Covering an SPY at the open,
First mistake--Staying up once again to a ridiculous late hour which meant there was no way to be at the computer and monitor the action the first few minutes. So, an order to cover a short was put in last night. Sentiment was better and futures were looking strong at 2:00 AM
Mistake 2.
Not keeping perspective.
It is impossible for anyone including yours truly to catch every little twist and turn of the market.
The "advice" days earlier was keep a little perspective and wait to cover any more spy shorts until sentiment improves enough and the MACD's stabilized and started turning up. A cross of the fast line throught the slow line.
Sentiment has improved but is at best closer to neutral than contrarian bullish. There is still plenty of room room for lower prices and sentiment to get more bearish [contrarian bullish] if the market wants to. Also, there are still gaps below the market which may not get filled but they just as easily could as the market has been in a downtrend.
The MACD's are still heading solidly down.
Pretty ticked about losing that perspective and really need to quit screwing around trying to anticipate every little turn up or down and comment on it.
And some how, need to get to bed at a sane hour which is so hard because after 11:00 PM it's as if some feel good drug kicks in and getting to bed is the last thing we feel like doing.
The trouble is..the mornings, especially early, feel like a total car wreck.
We all have our "demons" that hinder performance and man are some hard to break.
Sure as day follows night, that "feel good" drug will start kicking in late as it does every evening and that is despite taking a sleeping pill an hour earlier.
Thanks for putting up with some self frustration.
