K-Mart is crap, but do you know the entire story behind their stock? Many many people bought into K-Mart when it was down in the dumps because they believed the company would turn itself around.
One day, K-Mart decided to invalidate all of their stock, leaving everyone in the cold, then re-issued NEW stock which magically was higher priced than the old stock, now its trading over $100 screwing everyone who bought into them to raise the money for the turn around.
I'm sure this isn't new, but they reissued stock under the SAME NAME and anyone who owned the old K-Mart stock got zip.
Brokers advised all of the old holders to keep the stock on their record because of a pending law suit.
K-Mart is based in Michigan, it got alot more press here than anywhere else. You want to talk about Insider Trading, K-Mart's stock price magically rocketed through the roof in the past 3 weeks but yet no one knew a whiff about the merger.
The whole thing stinks, especially for those left holding the bad on their junk stock.
BTW, we do not shop at Target either, they treat their employee's on military leave like shit and leave them out in the cold as far as job security and medical insurance for their families back home.
We do shop at Sears, who has an incredible policy for their military employee's that have been deployed overseas which takes care of them and their families. Same for Home Depot.
