Jules, my boy, don't ever just believe what artii says about chip manufacturing unless he mentions the facts. He doesn't have the background himself to make any such statements, nor the insight in either AMD or Intels processes. Hence he can only repeat what others say. Again, don't get me wrong: I can also only repeat what others say but I hope you will note I try to collaborate it with some reasonable logic.

I simply agree with Artii in a general sense.
I am not an engineer, well if you want to count 2 yrs. of industrial engineering, then yes, those were vacueme tube days tho.
I look at the forest, rather than each individual tree. I suppose I have my own way of evaluating things. What I learned about this stuff is what I picked up along the road, and reading what you experts had to say. Having said that, I looked at the hammers block diagram and I was hooked. Some folks like elmo thought I was an idiot and stated so, no problem, I was right IMHO.

AMD came a long way since 1999, the inertia is carrying them along very nicely, Such a small company AMD, at least compared to intel, yet they are beating intel at their own game IMHO.
Some seem to forget, AMD never had designs on Itanium. AMD introduced the hammer to compete with Xion, tell me they havn't been succesfull. It's only been a year or so.

I'm a lucky dude. I worked my butt off, I made a shedload of mistakes, I made out pretty well over the years tho. This wont be the first time I made a buck with AMD stock, I only have 4000 shares @ avg. $4.60, a mere pittance to what I used to invest.
AMD, if they dont screw up, and I doubt they will at this jucture, will go way up and split again.
The new AMD, I like it!!!

Regards

Jules
