Slowing down is an issue that is difficult for all Cirrus pilots. Absolutely imperative to remember that, with power off, you have to slow down by raising the nose before putting the nose down.

One day I was coming through ADIZ to KJYO or KHEF at 170 KT until almost on top of airport. Maintaining this speed was not a problem that day for me, otherwise I would of advised "unable to maintain speed". It takes time to get comfortable with slowing down. Initially, do not push it. Comfort ability will come with time. Much better to come into pattern at 120 KT that be hot.

One day at KMGW I did have to go around for being too hot. My passenger was totally comfortable with the missed approach.
