Rato: $81 per share at the time plus $30 commission for a total of $840ish. I was young and newly married at the time so that was a pretty good chunk of money for me back then. I had to drive to a local broker to buy these (no public Internet at that time, no online brokers, etc). The only quotes I could get were from the newspaper and at the broker's office. I even received the stock certificate a week or so later in the mail (beautiful-looking thing, wish they still did this lol). And yes, I know how much they went up percentagewise since then grrrrr! So after blowing that opportunity and seeing how some people are reacting to the near-term fear-mongering and chicken-littling this market, I just laugh, knowing my only problem now is finding more free cash around to put into these little jewels. Now is the opportunity to get in on the ground floor of the next economic powerhouse of the century and I will not let little hiccups in market behavior get in the way like I did back in '87. Not this time lol.
