Zen,
I was in consulting (KPMG and another company) for a while, and I played the catch up game nightly. I was either traveling, at a clients facility, or on the "beach". Even on the beach, you have to attend many functions in-house or out of town. At the time, I was holding too many stocks for that type of activity, and I paid the price. Of course, once the bubble burst, and companies were no longer upgrading their ERP systems, my services were no longer needed. So, now I have plenty of time to trade, and so far, it has worked out well. Trading/investing is now my full time job.
