Symetra Financial Corporation Celebrates IPO
First Day of Trading on NYSE

Among the First Companies to Go Public in the U.S. in 2010 --

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Bellevue, Wash.-based life insurer Symetra Financial Corporation ("Symetra") today opened for trading on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol "SYA" after its successful IPO, which raised $364.8 million in total proceeds (for both primary and secondary shares).

Symetra is among the first companies to go public on the NYSE in 2010.
