Citi only loses .06 per share if you exclude the repayment of tarp. They got penalized heavily for repaying the tarp payment and loss-sharing agreement. This was extremely lower than what analyst expected before they knew that Citi was repaying Tarp money. Their loan losses are improving each quarter (which should show that things are steadily improving), and their tier 1 capital ratio is good, and have a ton of money set aside for loan losses. I think that investors will swollow this well and look to the brightside once they get by the .33 per share loss that is the headline.

Maybe we won't see the huge jump we were hoping, but definitely good news for the long run!
