I think that is the crucial question, particularly when it comes to a debt for equity settlement because it will determine how much dilution occurs. Understanding the mechanism and rules for valuation and making sure that it fairly represents what can happen after bk is what I hope the EC can help accomplish.

I think the keys to this may be in understanding competitors business models and using them as benchmarks in each business segment along with some reasonable forecast of %utilization and pricing for the next few years might be very helpful for existing businesses as a foundation value, then there is IP and growth potential which can be a lot harder and tougher to agree on but is real and has to be added. These comments are coming from a guy who does drilling and completion of oil & gas wells, with little recent exposure to the chemicals business and who's A/D experience is far from recent so it's probably worth about what it cost you and that wasn't much.
