texas ripper, just because you get into a WalMart here in the USA.willnot insure sucess, several health clinc's have tried that move only to fail(1 is still trying)the difference is Health care paying the cost in Canada and most health care plans willnot pay for hearing aids here, (unless it's accident or such)and a good pair of programable aids can run $5000+, just regular-bte or ite can be $800+. not saying it wouldnot work ,but, they would have to have a great price and product, being able to test, fit and deliver an hearing aid in one day(same day) is a Huge thing too and may be the key to their success,as it takes days to build an custom aid, I've been to Starky's in portland Or. and seen the whole progess, but to be able to offer a good, funtionable aid @ a reasonable price and in the same day would be agreat selling point.
