Yes I do have questions.....where do you get 2 lab test?...pls post links or copy/paste....I've seen other posters post that....I've referenced other posters saying that...but never seen the so-called 2 lab test you refer to...

What I read in the pr I refernced was Carl pointing to the test done by DP.....which is in the S-1...latest filing

On September 2, 2009 our parent company VIASPACE and we signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) with DP Cleantech Co. Ltd. of Beijing China, a subsidiary of Dragon Power. Pursuant to the Memorandum of Understanding, the parties agreed to (i) review the potential of running DP’s power plants solely with Giant King Grass or in combination with agricultural waste; (ii) investigate of suitable areas to grow Giant King Grass and co-locate a new power plant; (iii) and burn significant quantities of Giant King Grass in an existing DP Cleantech power plant. As part of their due diligence, DP Cleantech commissioned an independent analysis of Giant King Grass by the China National Center for Quality Supervision and Test of Coal which confirmed that Giant King Grass has an energy content of 18.4 megajouels (MJ) per dry kilogram (4402 kilocalories (kcal) per kilogram). DP Cleantech declared Giant King Grass suitable as a renewable feedstock for generating electric power in their power plants.

Now notice from the pellet pr 10/5....the above statement was first filed 10/15....I see Carl referencing the same testing below....

VIASPACE Chief Executive Dr. Carl Kukkonen commented: "Co-firing with biomass pellets is probably the simplest and least expensive way to reduce the carbon emissions from coal-fired power plants, because it can be accomplished by modifying existing coal plants, and not replacing them. Alternatives such as carbon dioxide capture from the smokestack and storage underground are considered much more expensive and not expected to occur for many years. As a result, co-firing with biomass pellets is now being implemented in Europe.

"As discussed in prior announcements, independent analysis of Giant King Grass has shown it to have excellent energy content and confirmed its suitability for burning in electric power plants," Kukkonen continued. "With this in mind, VIASPACE has produced a prototype of the pellets for evaluation.

"As discussed in prior announcements,"....what prior announcement?...this pr is 10/5....the filing is 10/15....the only brief mention of analysis is for GKG in a release is this from the DP pr on 9/14....which states the next step is the live trial...which I read....the test was already done.....

Based on the Giant King Grass analysis to power just one 30-MW plant, would require about 600 tons of Giant King Grass per day, or 219,000 tons per year.

The next step included under the MOU will be to carry out a live trial to examine the efficiency of Giant King Grass in one of DP CleanTech's existing power plants by the end of 2009.

VIASPACE will deliver at least 300 tons of biomass every day to supplement the trial.

also notice Carl is saying based on testing done for electric plants....

"As discussed in prior announcements, independent analysis of Giant King Grass has shown it to have excellent energy content and confirmed its suitability for burning in electric power plants," Kukkonen continued. "With this in mind, VIASPACE has produced a prototype of the pellets for evaluation.

they are going to make pellets for coal....based on testing for electric plants....."with that in mind" says Carl.....

I understand DP is BIOMASS.....Carl is the one making it confusing along with you guys saying 2 lab test were done....one poster said yesterday that the pics in the GKG presentation show it to be more than a lab test....suggesting a live trial.....that was the point of my post.....this board seems to be all over the place....I'm trying to do my DD.....

VSPC could be transparent and clear all this up...why announce a live trial.....and not follow through?....I appreciate your posting....and I agree on the following
GKG was found more energy potent in lab testing
DP has only BIOMASS plants
Pellets are for coal plants

I do not agree that Carl is being straightfoward.....or that 2 lab test were done...they may have....how do you know?...(pls post)..and that was why the live trial was called off because 2 lab test confirmed no need....a live trial would ONLY CONFIRM the lab results....if they were so good...you would NOT skip a chance to prove what you think you know....I believe VSPC didn't have the grass.....or the next step in the MOU was called off by DP.....IMHO....80% efficiency not good enough...

Thx for your post....looking foward to hearing from you again....
and pls copy/paste whatever you can....

GLTA....

Let me guess.....you won't be bothered to read my whole post....just a guess
