emit -Seems we've been down this (thought process) path before. What was it, two years ago (or just one?) that we discussed the possibilities of MOS being embedded in TI DSPs (even covertly). I was one of those trumpeting the possibilities, reinforced by TI PRs about the capabilities of each of their new DSP offerings. It was a very appealing prospect though was seemingly nipped in the bud by recognition that MOS was securely embedded in Actel's FGPAs. There remains the possibility that this was not the sole embedding mechanism (which raises the security concern), and the possibility that MOS could maybe be embedded in the TI DSP after the fact (manufacture) due to its being reprogramable (though this again raises the security concern). Also, it seems your pushing the intent of JC words a bit. When he talks of devices having certain capabilities (e.g., clock), I really don't think his intent included MOS being in components of devices produced other than for EDIG. However, if I'm wrong in this respect, I suggest we direct our attention to Actel's FGPAs, and not TI DSPs. There was a reason for embedding there...
