Alcohol is not only volatile, but doesn't mix at all with water and evaporates pretty rapidly. (That is one of the meanings of volatile) Flammable would be another. There are a couple of documented reports of fires by users of alcohol based disinfectants. One recent one was a nurse who suffered serious injury as she was disinfecting her hands with an alcohol based sanitizer that was ignited by a spark.
