INDU fell 0.89 of a point to close at 10,385.04,COMPQ dropped 8.77 points, to 2,034.56 SPX slipped 1.17 points, or 0.1 percent, to 1,162.91.
Expected move by the Federal Reserve to boost its key rate to 2 percent but losses in the tech sector weighed on the Nasdaq amid a disappointing sales outlook from Cisco Systems and a number of broker downgrades.
