I saw the proposal of the New School professor on TIME (?) magazine a long while ago, and recalled it vaguely when I read the Bloomberg article. I surely find the word "confiscate" alarming.

"...proposals to confiscate workers' personal retirement accounts - including 401(k)s and IRAs - and convert them to accounts managed by the Social Security Administration"
