I think the world has vast amounts of undeveloped acreage that could be used for agriculture.

Most undeveloped acreage is unsuitable for productive farming. Brazil is probably the only country capable of bringing a significant amount of productive new farmland into commercial use; however, this would entail chopping down rainforest in the North, which has negative ramifications vis-à-vis greenhouse gasses.

If you look at the mid-century population numbers from any reputable forecasting organization, I think you’ll find that meeting the world’s requirement for food via increased farm acreage alone is unrealistic. Regards, Dew
