I think they would probably need to file a SEC to mention this towards the shareholders. I suppose an organized buyback happens with the help of market makers who try to keep the pps as low as possible so the company can buy back their shares at a good price.

I don't expect a buyback in 2010. Maybe in 2011 or 2012.
