It sounds like you may have some spyware on your system - can come from a variety of sources, not just porn sites like some think.
Aluira software has a free trial package for a spyware eliminator. Go to http://www.aluriasoftware.com/ and click on the free scan (red button, bottom right on screen).

If a virus is your concern, then there is also a free virus scan from trend micro at http://housecall.trendmicro.com/. If you wish to purchase either of these products let me know and I can cut you a deal. Runing both of these once in a while can help protect you even if you have anti-virus software already installed. I hope this helps.
