Agreed.... and the current administration spends so fast and so much it makes you feel like they are trying to bankrupt the country. They seem to be Europe wannabees despite the fact that its not working there. Capitalism generated so much cash we used to be able to police the world. European countries (despite their constant whining), and the rest of the free world for that matter all feed off of us for defense. How many countries do you know that have an army that could do anything substantial other than the USA in the free world (without using nukes)? Germany hides behind treaties that don't allow them to fight in other countries. France...pfft they haven't been much of anything for a few hundred years. They all rely on our power and have to spend less on armies because of us backing them up. They have been making out like a bandit with no effort.
That's the way I like the US to be...wealthy, generous to the poor nations of the world, and heading in our own direction not giving a crap what other countries think.
My reminder of the stupid European crap is the darn roundabouts the have been building where I live. I hate them, and they are a sign of how desperate some people want to be like Europe.
