This from the UK press tomorrow concluding that body-scanners are ineffective in detecting the chemical PETN found on the Xmas day Northwest flight. This certainly opens the door wide open for the TSA to seriously consider IMSC's sniffer technology which detects PETN and a multitude of other explosive compounds:
