How can we be sure the SEC will be working for the shareholders interest and not for themselves? After all it is my understanding that they derive their income from the very system that the MM's do. The more shares traded the more money they make.
They have to be aware if there is illegal shorting going on. Why haven't they stepped in to do something about it? Do they even publicly acknowledge the problem?
