The bulk of our legislative governmet, you know, the guys that make the rules, are infuenced by lobyists who represent groups that wish to make thier opinions important. Look what's happening to Health Care.....over 600,000,000.00 (yea 600 Mil) has been spent to infuence thier bill. Even the Teamsters are spending to fight it. Every human will need health care at some point in thier lives. It would seem the human thing to do; provide the talent to see to the needs of the constituency. If only at a basic level. And here we have carbon credits. A nice capitolistic answer. A "carot and stick" : you make polution (burn fuels emitting carbon and toxics) to make a profit and some of that profit must pay to reduce the human cost you've burdened. The carrot: if you serve the ecology of the planet and reduce polutants you will be rewarded. Real simple. Brimg it to Capitol Hill and the lobyists are droolling over the cash that Coal will pay. That's why nothing has been done with Cap and Trade. They talk about a free market and here we are at the birth of a new commodity yet there's the lobyists representing intrests who stand to loose. Exxon just bought EXO, a Natural Gas Producer. Whatch how fast Cap and Trade goes to law now. Gas produces 30% less carbon than oil. Instantly complying with Kyoto protocalls for the next 20 years. Gas is abundant.
Thank you for letting me vent on this subject that's so important to me and humanity. I do believe it's important to SGCP also.
