The other side of football. I have permanent issues with my neck after playing football in high school and college. Thank God I was not good enough to play in the pros. In fact I was a bench warmer in college. I did however coach in high school and I wish I had never been part of the game. I still bet on football because after all I am a gambler. My son hurt his knee when he was playing football in high school. He never tried again. I told him how lucky he was that it is only his knee. My twins were never good at sports. That was a blessing. They are the only ones without permanent damage. My son had a good friend that was good. He played for USC. His father just recently committed suicide because he was really good and played in the pros. The pain was too much to bear. A former line backer for the Dolphins who I got to know well had a young child. He could not even pick up the child. Why do we not see these stories on the sports pages? It is all about the money. Here is a story you should all read if you have children that want to play football. Do not let them play that game.
