The high growth in subscriber numbers encourages the International Data Corporation to predict that Internet telephony providers will earn a total revenue of $16.5 billion by 2004, up from $208 million in 2000 - a compound annual rate of 200% a year. According to Gartner Group's Dataquest, consumer VoIP services will boost from $443 million in 1999, to $19 billion in 2004. In addition, the global voice-over-Packet Services market is foreseen to reach $87 billion by 2004.
