My point is that neither of us know whether Cortex ever refused an offer that we--at the time--would have considered 'good enough.' Neither of us knows whether their standard for acceptability involved ensuring that options would be in the money. Conclusions about that possibility will likely depend on differing views of their adherence to the principle of fiduciary responsibility.

Having an opinion, unsupported by any actual information that this occurred, and concluding that therefore it did, falls under the Colbert category of 'truthiness:' If you feel it in your gut, that's close enough. And putting it in all caps makes it even more convincing.
