The MMs totally control the PPS. How do they do this? By setting up phatom orders on one side of the market. In this case, they showed strong buy support early on, which made people feel like there was good support on the buy side and that it was ready to run. Which the MMs wanted, so they allow people to get in, run the price up.

It's quite common for them to do this in the AM, then in the PM try to dry up the volume and cause a sell off.
