For more than 23 years, Dan has advised many local, national and international clients on all stages and aspects of real estate and business transactions including real estate and business acquisitions, construction, conduit and bond financing; real estate syndications and offerings, including 1031 fractional interest programs and private real estate equity offerings; tax credit transactions including Low Income, New Markets and Historic tax credits; office, warehouse, and retail leasing; construction and architectural contracts; mortgage financing, including CMBS, DUS, defeasance and other complex mortgage financing matters; and tax planning.

Several of Dan's career highlights include acting as lead outside counsel to Plum Creek Timber Company in connection with several of its major acquisitions with a transaction value well in excess of $2,500,000,000. Dan also served as chief architect of American Capital Development's 1031 TIC program which has been instrumental in raising funds in excess of $500,000,000 since 2001. In addition, Dan has assisted numerous non-profit and for-profit developers in the development, financing and sale of important low income projects throughout the west.

Dan is a member of the Washington State, King County and America Bar Associations, speaks to many industry and legal groups on matters related to real estate and business law and has been repeatedly recognized by Seattle Magazine as a "Top Lawyer" in the area of Commercial Real Estate Law. Dan was named a Seattle "Top Business Lawyer" by Seattle Business Monthly in 2006, 2007 and 2008, and was added to the "League of Justice List", a list of Washington's most amazing attorneys, by Washington CEO. He was named a "Super Lawyer" in 2007 and 2008 by Washington Law & Politics magazine. He is also the author of several real estate articles, including the "Paralegal's Guide to Real Estate Law" (published by the National Business Institute in the 1990s), "Tenancy in Common Fractional Interest Programs" (published in the Washington State Bar Association Real Property, Probate, and Trust Newsletter - Summer 2004), and "The Credit Crisis and Its Impact on Your Practice" (Washington State Bar Association, Real Property, Probate, and Trust Newsletter - Summer 2008).

He is on the Board of Directors of Core Business Bank, a community bank in Bellevue, Washington, established in 2007. He is also an active member of the Tenant-In-Common Association, a national trade association dedicated to the burgeoning tenant-in-common syndication business and the Rental Housing Association of Puget Sound.
