Was reading an article today about a group in Vermont who is protesting re-licensing the Vermont Yankee nuclear power plant...

Read an article last summer about a group protesting solar panels in the Desert because they were afraid of the impact on the turtle population...

Read an article a year ago about a group of Cape Cod residents protesting offshore wind power...

It doesn't end. My advice to these NIMBYs is to turn off your computers, lights and electric powered appliances. Go buy some candles. Electric power needs to be generated. Most commonly, this take place in the form of chemical power to mechanical power to electrical power, as is the case with all fueled power plants. Solar power comes directly from the sun in the form of photons which strike pn junctions, releasing electrons and creating current.

I just do not understand these people. I really do not. They want electricity but they don't want it generated ANYWHERE! Ridiculous. Luckily the state and federal government has the ultimate say. My only hope is that there are still some logical folks left.
