I spent a half hour posting a response contradicting you and when I submitted the post it just disappeared. Divine intervention? You must be right. It was full of biblical passages and historical references as well as an explanation of why pascifists rely on those willing to defend the innocent against unchecked aggression, tyranny and oppression to survive. I explained how your equation ends in death for the innocent when aggression is unchecked by the righteous. I explained how there would be no religious freedom without the willingness to shed blood. I explained how there was a time for everything including war. I explained how soldiers are referred to in the bible and I explained when there would no longer be a need for war as told to us in the bible. Like I said all of my work just disappeared so I must be wrong. I explained how history has shown us what the world would look like without the willingness to defend liberty and what it will look like in the future. In other words i wasted a bunch of time. I think we both want peace but have different ideas on how it is achieved. When God directed us to "turn the other cheek" was that a directive referring to individual interactions? Is owning a firearm(for self defense) against Gods wishes? Should there even be a military? Police force? All interesting questions to ponder but you may be right.
